I began my teaching career at Cuba High School in Cuba, MO, in 1988. I taught business, marketing, and journalism, as well as serving as the DECA adviser, yearbook adviser, assistant softball coach, and assistant basketball coach. In 2002, I accepted a position teaching Cooperative Education at Rolla Technical Institute in Rolla, MO. I was the co-adviser for DECA. Then in 2007, I began teaching business, marketing, and journalism at Montrose R-XIV. I served as the FBLA adviser, FCA sponsor, yearbook adviser, softball coach, and assistant basketball coach. I retired after 10 years in 2017. Since that time, I have worked as the 4-H Youth Program Associate for the Bates County Extension Office, as the Director of Operations for Pitbull Powersports, Inc., and as the HR Manager/Purchasing and Inventory Management Specialist for Custom Container Living, Inc. My husband, Rob, and I have been married for 25 years. We live on a small farm west of Montrose. We have two daughters, Kirstyn and Kalyn. Kirstyn will be teaching 6th Grade ELA at North Callaway Middle School. Kalyn is a second semester junior at KU in Lawrence, KS, majoring in kinesiology and exercise science. Teaching is truly my purpose. I am so glad to be getting back to what I love. I believe that every child, regardless of their age, should have someone that believes they can be great! I am excited to be back as a part of the Bluejay family! |
